An essay can be defined as, generally, a well-written piece of writing that presents the author’s perspective on some matter of interest for him. However, the definition of the essay is somewhat vague, varying from those of an article, an overview, and a dental composition. Essays are usually categorized as formal and informal, though a writer can opt to compose an essay for a specific function. In the previous phases, essays were mostly written for a literary or educational crowd and included details, information, concepts and explanations.
